Microbiology

Our facility is limited in processing microbiology samples and only the following are performed on-site:

  • Fasting Bloodwork

    • Please ensure your patients know if they have to be fasting for 12 hours for lipid profile (if fasting required) and 8 hours for glucose fasting.

  • Referral Testing

Any other sample is sent to Dynalife and requires a blue requisition:

  • Throat swabs

  • Urine culture

  • CSF culture

  • Blood culture

  • Genital-prenatal (GBS)

  • Genital swab for vaginosis (wet mount and gram only, no culture).

As we have no control over the external processing of the samples, we cannot provide an estimate on the turnaround time for external specimens. Should you want to check on the status of a referral test, please contact Dynalife directly at: 1-800-661-9876.
